This application form is for Vermont Law and Graduate School's master's degrees and professional certificate programs, or masters of law (LLM) candidates who received their JD degrees from U.S.-based institutions. Candidates seeking our JD degrees or International LLM program need to apply via the Law School Admission Council's application portal.
Applications to Vermont Law and Graduate School's graduate programs are considered from any person who has earned a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or equivalent international degree and who meets other entrance requirements. Applications to the LLM programs must have earned a JD from an American Bar Association (ABA)-accredited institution or hold an equivalent foreign law degree. Some exceptions apply.
Please refer to the VLGS website for program descriptions and admission requirements for the Dual Degree programs. (Admission to a VLGS Graduate Program does not ensure admission to a Dual Degree program.) Also note that participating schools have their own deadlines and requirements - please consult with their respective admissions offices.

It is preferred that one of the two required letters of recommendation be academic in nature. If an applicant has been out of school for more than two years, two professional letters will be accepted.
Recommenders will receive instructions on how to submit their letters after applicant submits the Application Form. Recommenders' questions can be sent to Admiss@VermontLaw.edu.
International applicants seeking Vermont Law and Graduate School's Masters of Laws (LLM) degrees need to apply via the Law School Admission Council's application portal. Applicants seeking master's or certificate programs should continue with the additional application requirements. All international transcripts must be evaluated by an accredited evaluation agency. Optional agencies include SpanTran, Educational Credential Evaluators (ECE.org), Educational Perspectives (edperspectives.org) and World Education Services (WES.org).
English Language competency scores are required of all students for whom English is not the primary language spoken. Applicants who have studied in the U.S. or at an English-speaking institution for more than two years may be waived from this requirement.
TOEFL minimum score: 600 paper-based, 250 computer-based, 100 Internet-based
IELTS minimum score: 6.5
PTE minimum score: 68

The Master's and LLM degrees offered at Vermont Law and Graduate School do not require standardized test scores to be considered for admission, however, if you have taken the LSAT, GRE, or GMAT in the last five years and wish to have those scores considered as a part of your entire application, please submit those here.
International candidates must submit English language competency test scores. If you have lived in an English-speaking country for at least two years or completed a bachelor's degree or higher at a domestic U.S. education institution, you may be exempt from submitting scores.
Letter of Recommendation Instructions
Vermont Law and Graduate School requires that applicants submit two Letters of Recommendation to be considered for admission. Please fill out the information below. Upon submitting the application form, each recommender will receive an email notification with a link to upload their recommendation (PDF format preferred). Letters of Recommendation must be received no later than ten days after the final application deadline. Deadline information is listed on the Deadlines and Calendar page of the Vermont Law and Graduate School website.
You will be asked whether or not you wish to waive your rights to view the letters of recommendations submitted during the admission process. Under the provisions of FERPA, if you select 'yes' to waive your rights, you will not be granted access to this information as an applicant or enrolled student. Please note that the recommender is aware of your decision to waive or retain your right to view letters of recommendation. You will not be able to change the waiver status once you submit this form.
If your recommender wishes to send a letter of recommendation directly to Vermont Law and Graduate School via email or postal mail, you must first contact the Admissions Office for approval.

Vermont Law and Graduate School holds its members to high ethical standards.
